A Slower Slow Food Movement? Rename the HAPIfork
Finally, a diet aid that gets to the heart—or gut—of our overeating problem. Our stomachs need 15 minutes to relay to our brains that they’re sated, so when eating quickly we don’t feel full until we’re too full. That’s where the HAPIfork comes in. This Bluetooth-enabled smart fork counts the seconds between bites, and uses flashing lights and vibrations to warn you if you need to slow the noshing. The tined timekeeper will also synch to your phone to give you info like “fork servings taken per minute.” It’s a truly novel concept, but its name is as bland as it is obscure. Surely we can do better. PopNamers, dig in!
