Just when you thought airplane seats couldn’t get more uncomfortable, Airbus submits a patent for a design that resembles a bicycle seat. Forget elbow room, headrests or tray tables. These are nothing more than retractable perches designed to squeeze as many bodies as humanly (or inhumanly) possible onto a plane. So, what would you call this torturous design that gives new meaning to the term “cabin pressure”?
