Mile High’s No Lie: Name Colorado’s Marijuana Boom
Colorado recently became the first state in the U.S. to finalize regulations for recreational marijuana businesses, many set to open in January 2014. As you can imagine, this deregulation has bloomed in to a growing frenzy, one so fierce that the swell in cannabis commerce has been called the “Green Rush.” There are more than 204 medical marijuana dispensaries in Denver alone, about 3 times the number of Starbucks and McDonald’s combined, and many more waiting to put down roots. Whether you partake or not, what would you rename the Mile High State’s “Green Rush?”
