It’s kind of a honey story: Renaming manuka honey
Manuka Honey, a specific type of honey produced by bees that pollinate the manuka flower, is popular of late because of its antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and hydrating properties. Not to mention it tastes delicious! As buzzworthy as this honey is, the issue here is with the name – Manuka. Beekeepers of New Zealand say that manuka represents the origin of the honey and should be limited to this specific honey from New Zealand while Australian beekeepers say that they have produced manuka honey since the 1840s and that the word manuka is used for over 80 different varieties of honey.
Don’t mind your own beeswax on this one PopNamers! We promise this game won’t sting. With all the amazing things manuka honey can do, we’re sure our PopNamers can come up with some un-bee-table names. Let’s rename Manuka honey!
