Cotton – the touch, the feel … the taste?! Naming edible cottonseeds
Cotton is edible! No, PopNamers, we are not speaking of the candy variety. Researchers have genetically engineered a new cotton species with cottonseeds that are non-toxic. This variation of cottonseed can be ground into a high-protein powder, used as fishmeal for salmon and tuna, or even roasted whole as a nutritious snack. Creator Keerti Rathore compared the taste to hummus. Cottonseed’s tasty transformation could be the basis of a whole new cuisine!
PopNamers, what shall we call edible cottonseeds or the delicious dishes we can make with them?
