Crimson Peaks: Naming red snow
The Alps are known for their thick white snow in the colder seasons, however, the warm summer weather mysteriously changes the color of snow to a pinkish red color. Often referred to as Glacier Blood, this color change is caused by a type of invisible algae that turns reddish or pinkish when algae blooms during the warmer months. A very cool phenomenon that is increasing due to climate change.
Don’t feel snowed under with this one PopNamers. What you would call the red snow phenomenon?
